What's ironic about this post, is that it appears like I might have had a 2 year old lifestyle session.....however, I was really there to take newborn portraits.  Sadly, the baby was sick, so instead I was lucky enough to focus on Mr. M.   He looks so grown up, it's hard to believe he is only 2.

This little peanut was just 6 days old when I came over to take portraits and she was determined to stay awake the ENTIRE time I was there.  TWO hours later, we finally got her to sleep...just long enough to pose her for a few shots.  I think the wait was worth it.  Enjoy!

Our neighborhood is filled with young families and children.  These 3 ladies live just a few doors down and I feel so lucky that their mom asked me to document this time in her children's lives.

I adore lifestyle sessions in the home.  The children are comfortable and I honestly believe that 10 years down the road, THIS is how you want to remember them - rolling around on your bed, nothing fancy - just simple, pure and full of love.

It was an honor to photograph this sweet 6 month old.  Her father is serving our country and is a Clemson alumni.  He hasn't seen her since she was just 6 weeks old and this session is a gift for him.

Why I like this family...mom said not to worry about editing the scab on her son's nose because "that's who we are".  A perfect response!

It turned out I had some things in common with this family - one being that Missi is a photographer herself - how flattered am I that she asked me to take her family pictures!

While the studio look isn't really my style, I just had to try out the white Christmas light set up....Catherine was not nearly excited as I thought she would be to take pictures in front of the lights...therefore it's just sweet, sleepy Miles.

This is what it REALLY feels like to take a picture of a 2 year old.  First there is crying, then bribery (wow- what a cracker can do to make a child happy), then a smiley little girl. This was literally a quick 5 minute snapshot outside. I took this back in November before all the leaves fell off of the trees in our backyard.

Sadly, we may soon move C out of her crib and transition to a toddler bed (which actually is this same crib...and I L.O.V.E. how girly it is).  Just a few snapshots before the end of her crib days.  This afternoon she decided it was NOT going to be nap time.

A beautiful family with a little girl full of personality....and Piglet, the dog who is making her last family photo session. A + M, thanks for a fun evening in the park!

Love this photo for many reasons (can't decide between color/B&W) but especially because little Piglet is peering out of the brush.
